One of the city's distinctive monuments is the old Turbogine Luzern gate, which dates back to 1896 AD,and was renovated in 1991 AD, after the fire that left the original gate almost completely destroyed.
What distinguishes the gate is the bronze
statue above it, known as the spirit of the age , which was set up to represent the protection of the gate and the inhabitants of the city of Lucerne.
